Fin & Foil: Hydrofoil Gear, Lessons, and Foil Drive Repair on the Treasure Coast

Fin & Foil is the Treasure Coast's dedicated resource for hydrofoil gear, wing foil and e-foil lessons, Foil Drive instruction, and full in-house Foil Drive repair service.

Founded by two brothers from Stuart, Florida, the shop operates out of Fort Pierce and serves riders at every level — from first-timers who have never been on a board to experienced foilers looking for technical support and the latest gear.

Fin & Foil was founded in 2021 by brothers Brian and Chris Trappy. They signed a retail lease before they had inventory, supplier relationships, or any foiling experience — two brothers with a credit card and a bet on themselves.

The first months were a crash course in everything: building vendor relationships, learning the gear, and earning the trust of a tight-knit local riding community one customer at a time.

That willingness to figure it out in public, and own every mistake along the way, is still how they operate.

The shop sits within easy reach of the area's best riding spots — Stuart Causeway, the Fort Pierce Inlet, and the Indian River Lagoon — the same water Brian and Chris grew up on and still ride today.

The shop is the starting point for most Treasure Coast foiling sessions — close to the water, stocked with gear, and staffed by people who know these conditions.
